Meanwhile director Vijay, too, will be making a biopic on the late political leader. The biopic will feature a top Bollywood star, with the rumour mills suggesting that it could be Vidya Balan. The film will be produced by Vibri Media. Vibri Media, which has produced several TV shows in the last 10 years, is also producing 83 World Cup film in Hindi directed by Kabir Khan with Ranveer Singh playing Kapil Dev and NTR Biopic directed by Krish with Balakrishna as NTR along with Dr J Jayalalitha Biopic – all scheduled for release in next year.
A third filmmaker is looking to make a biopic on Jayalalitha too. Priyadarshini, who happens to be filmmaker Mysskin’s associate, recently made the announcement. She said that she will primarily focus on how the late CM dealt life’s various challenged head-on and all by herself. The cast and crew of her film will be announced on September 20.
On 22 September 2016, Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, as she was suffering from infection and acute dehydration. Her official duties were handed over to her aide O. Panneerselvam on 12 October 2016, though she continued to remain as the chief minister of the state. She was also said to be suffering from severe pulmonary infection and Septicemia, which were cured. However, on December 5, 2016, it was announced that she had passed away.
