Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to work with Trisha! It was largely speculated early this year that the two would collaborate for the first time. However, the makers made it official this afternoon.

The actress is a part of Karthik Subbaraj’s project with the superstar. It was earlier speculated that Deepika Padukone or Anjali would be paired with the actor. The other female lead in the film is Simran, who is also collaborating with Rajinikanth for the first time.

Produced by Sun Network, the superstar will work with director Karthik Subbaraj for his next film hinting that the announcement of his political party will probably not come anytime soon. The cast also includes Vijay Sethupathi, who is collaborating with Subbaraj for the fourth time. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui also has a role in the film.

Trisha has worked with all the prominent stars in Kollywood including Kamal Hassan and Ajith. In the past, she had expressed her interest to work with actor Rajinikanth. She last featured in the film Mohini, wherein she played a dual role. The film was subjected to negative to mixed reviews. Her next film is ’96’ with actor Vijay Sethupathi. She has a few other projects in the pipeline including Garjanai – the Tamil remake of the Hindi film NH10 and Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Arvind Swami.
