In essence, it’s a female-led film with Nayanthara playing Anjali who is in charge of investigating a bunch of murders by a psychopath. While women’s roles are often underwritten in cinema, this trailer cuts to the chase and it was even revealed that her character was written for a man but was mildly adjusted when she came on board.
The trailer shows Anurag Kashyap’s menacing role as a villain, who engages in a cat and mouse game between him and Anjali. And while he calls her ‘baby’ and patronisingly beckons her, she is not someone to put up with his nonsense. “Let’s get that f*cking son of a b*tch,” she screams, taking us back to when Jyothika in Naachiyaar used abusive language, something which is often uttered by male leads.
Atharva plays a doctor while Raashi Khanna plays his love interest. The film is produced by CJ Jayakumar of Cameo Films India.
