Talking to Anupama Chopra, VJS said, “To me, Shilpa is a beautiful person, her relationship with her son despite all the societal pressure running in the background is pure and soulful. While I prepared for Shilpa, I wanted to awaken the woman inside me, that’s only how I prepared for the role. In fact, I was so intrigued by this role that I told the producers I would do it for free, just let me do this role. When I prepare for any role for that matter, I make sure it touches me from within. I do not look at myself after a shot and I do not care even if it takes 60 takes for me to perfect that shot.”
Talking about his director Thiyagaraja Kumararaja, he said, “Kumararaja is just like me, he is never satisfied with a shot until it touches him from within.”
Ranveer Singh, who seemed to be an ardent fan of the film had the nicest thing to say. “The guy who launched me, Manish Sharma, he called me and asked me to ‘watch Super Deluxe….there is a 10-year-old kid in there and he will make you think about your whole life and graph. At first, I was like, please sir but when I watched it, Raasukutty is phenomenal…he is pure magic. Whoever hasn’t seen it, should watch it for the chemistry between Vijay Sethupathi and child,” adds Ranveer.
