I wanted that man to die! : Hasini’s Father

Death sentence for Daswant

Yesterday 23-year-old Techie S Daswant was sentenced to death by a Mahila Court in Chengalpet for the rape and murder of 7-year-old Hasini from his apartment complex and later the murder of his mother when he was out on bail.

According to a The NewsMinute report, he has been found guilty under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abduction), 354-b (assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to disrobe), 302 (murder), and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC and section 8 read with 7, 6, 5(m) of POCSO (punishment for aggravated sexual assault).

“It is death by hanging,” said the judge as people celebrated the justice around the court and all over social media.

Reacting to the verdict, the girl’s father said he was satisfied. “I wanted nothing less than death for the monster,” he told the media.

“When I started pursuing the case, I was advised against it as courts take a long time. But I am happy it got over,” he said.

Hasini’s father was also tearful when Daswant was brought into the court for trial. Allegedly Daswant showed no guilty feelings whatsoever for what he did and in fact even scared Hasini’s father saying he will come out and hurt his son that is Hasini’s little brother.
