Saranya was one of those actresses who had an exclusive league of fan following for herself back in the day. In an era that was filled with retro glamour and cabaret sequences, she was like a breath of fresh air for the audiences. People loved her for the demure, modest heroine that she was. Apart from acting in movies, she runs her own design institute. “I have been in the design industry for nearly two decades. Initially, it just started as a hobby – I used to make clothes for my children and myself, whenever I had the time.
Looking at our outfits, many of my friends requested me to design clothes for them, but I just didn’t have the time; I did paper cuttings and gave it to them so that they could get it stitched themselves. After a while, a few of my friends asked me to teach them how to do these cuttings on paper.
