In a throwback interview, Samantha had stated, “I got my first tattoo when I was around 18 when I thought I was in love and was going to marry that individual. I do not wish to talk about that tattoo and where it is, anymore.”
Samantha Akkineni is known for being opinionated about various societal issues. She has openly talked about all the things bothering women in society. She stood up for her friend Chinmayi when no one else did. Samantha Akkineni has also been trolled after her wedding for her choice of clothing, for choice of films and much more. But, she has always called them out like a boss.
A throwback interview of the actress when she promoted Mahanati, has been resurfacing where she talks about her past relationship with Siddharth and how it was imperative that she gets out of it. “Even I would have fallen into such a crisis in my personal life like Savitri did. But thankfully I realised it in the beginning and walked out of the relationship as soon as I sensed that it could end up bad. And then I’m blessed to have a person like Naga Chaitanya in my life. He’s a gem of everything,” added the actress.
Sam has also talked about how she was scared of the repercussions. “I remember, the first time when I wore something revealing after marriage, I was trolled terribly and it was very, very hard. But I noticed that when I did it the second time, it was not so bad. It’s all about taking that first step. I’m not going to say that I did something brave. I was scared of the repercussions and of the trolling. But at the same, I told myself that things have to change and I’m going to do as much as I can to be a part of that change,” she said.
On the professional front, On the professional front, Samantha has Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, an untitled next with actor Prasanna directed by Game Over fame Ashwin Saravanan. She is also in talks with her OH Baby director Nandini Reddy for a film with her husband Naga Chaitanya.
