It came as a shocker when Aishwarya Rajesh chose to walk out of Shankar’s magnum opus and the most anticipated film Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet and Siddharth in the lead. Aishwarya was to sport the role of Rakul initially, but she decided to walk out. In a recent interview, the actress opened up about the same.

She stated, “I allocated my dates for the film last year but all of a sudden, they wanted my dates again in August. In the meantime, I committed four films and as I’m answerable to those producers, there was no option left but to opt-out of Indian-2. I couldn’t sleep for two days because of that decision. For an actress who came to the industry without any backing, working with Shankar sir and Kamal sir was a big opportunity. It would have been a historical moment for me, missed it.”

Aishwarya also talked about her upcoming film Namma Veettu Pillai. “Yes, there was an initial inhibition because I was not sure whether mainstream heroine character would be offered to me in the future. But actors like Sivaji Ganesan and Savitri have set us a good example long back. Moreover, the story of Namma Veettu Pillai was too good to say no to”, said the actress.
