Playing the character Zareena, Huma was full of gratitude towards her director and her lead actor, Rajinikanth, while also expressing her excitement for the film. It is reported that she will play Rajinikanth’s ex-girlfriend and will be playing a 45-year-old woman. “The only joy we get as actors is to play living breathing characters .. so blessed to have had the opportunity to play #Zareena,” she wrote.

If reports are anything to go by, the scenes with Huma and Rajinikanth are said to be one of the main highlights of the film.
The film is set in a Mumbai slum where Rajini’s character Kaala is the supreme leader. The film also features Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil, Samuthirakani and Eswari Rao. Kaala is almost similar to Kabali in its tone, theme and making – which was incidentally Ranjith and Rajinikanth’s first collaboration which became a huge commercial and critical success. Much like Kabali, this film, too, has music by Santhosh Narayanan, wherein the film’s audio was launched earlier this month.
Dhanush, who is producing Kaala, under Wunderbar Film, has officially confirmed that the film will be releasing on June 7. The film is simultaneously releasing in Telugu and Hindi as well, with Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn sharing the Hindi film’s poster featuring a slick Rajinikanth in character.
