In a recent interview with TOI, Vidyu talked about her love story, her dream wedding and more. “Sanjay and I had a roka ceremony. He is a Sindhi and we got engaged in a Sufidar temple. It is more or less like an engagement, an official announcement. We just had our close family members at the ceremony, which was followed by dinner and cake-cutting. I hate dating apps. Putting up pictures on them didn’t really appeal to me. But my close friends asked me to try one. I met Sanjay through this dating app and we both swiped right on each other. But once I began chatting with him, it felt like I’d known him for years,” she said further adding, “Both of us are passionate about the same things. I was on my weight-loss journey, while he is an advocate for Ketogenic diet and a food entrepreneur. I had asked him about a low-carb and ketogenic diet, and he helped me in my fitness journey. Be it food, diets, or fun, we bond over the same things.”
Talking about her relationship with her in-laws, Vidyu said, “Sanjay’s parents are genuinely warm and lovely people. They are very encouraging of my profession and proud of what I have achieved. It is something when your partner is supportive, but when your in-laws support you, it feels nice. I get along with his mother like a house on fire. I am also close to his sister. My parents, too, were very chilled out.”
So when is the big day? “It was surreal to be wearing masks in our roka ceremony. We couldn’t even hug our loved ones. Sanjay and I definitely want the wedding of our dreams, so we plan to wait until this pandemic is over. At the end of the day, the safety of our loved ones is important,” concludes Vidyu in her interview.
