HIGHLIGHT: Domestic Flight Services To Resume From May 25th! Here Are The New Guidelines!

Flights have been suspended in the country since March 25, when the first phase of the lock down began. The government has now announced that Domestic flights across the country will resume operations starting May 25.  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for passenger movement are also being separately issued by the ministry.

Some airlines had begun taking bookings for flights from June 1 on wards.

As per the new guidelines passengers are asked to do a web check-in only and are expected to arrive at the airport two hours prior with print boarding pass and check-in baggage ticket if required.

No cabin baggage is allowed and the checked-in baggage should be less than 20 kgs and a single unit.

To ensure safety here would be physical distance markings, disinfecting of all common areas like lifts, travelators, escalators, chairs in seating areas, food and beverage (F&B) and retail outlets would be done and availability of movable hand wash cart or alcohol based hand sanitisers at regular intervals within the terminal would be ensured.

 The Tamil Nadu Government has now confirmed that the lockdown has been extended upto May 31st.  This is also a nationwide lockdown as confirmed by the Ministry Of Home Affairs.
