The film’s shooting began in June and includes a powerhouse of talent in terms of cast. The film’s cast, apart from Rajinikanth, includes Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Megha Akash, Bobby Simha, Sasikumar and Sanath. The film first and second look are out revealing that there’s a lot to expect in this film. The first look featured Rajinikanth in a rather stylish avatar.
The second look showcases Rajinikanth in an avatar of a villager with his handlebar moustache on point and the sun rising behind him, reminiscent of his film ‘Thalapathi’.

Produced by Sun Network, the superstar is working Karthik Subbaraj for the first time, hinting that the announcement of his political party will probably not come anytime soon. The film also marks the coming together of Simran and Rajinikanth for the first time, considering she has acted along side his contemporaries including Kamal Haasan. This is a first for Trisha and Rajinikanth, too, and the actress had expressed it a “dream coming true” when the announcement was made.
The film’s music is by Anirudh Ravichander. While this film will release in 2019, Rajinikanth’s magnum opus – ‘2.0’ – the sequel to ‘Enthiran’ is scheduled to release on November 29, after a score of delays since 2016.
