Here’s Why It Will Not Be ‘Suriya vs Vijay’ This Diwali!

This Diwali, Suriya’s NGK and actor Vijay’s Sarkar were supposed to be at loggerheads, battling it out at the box-office. However, the former’s film’s release has been postponed with the announcement being made this afternoon. The film, pegged to be a political drama, was set for a November release but the announcement indicates otherwise.

“It is a great entertainer in the making. We are working hard to achieve the best and deliver the same to you at the earliest. This may take longer than expected,” the statement by Dream Warrior Pictures read.

The film, which went on floors earlier this year, also stars actresses Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes music while SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu produce the project under their Dream Warriors Banner.

On that note, Vijay’s Sarkar is going as per schedule with the producers periodically uploading working stills from the sets of the film. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film was tentatively titled Thalapathy 62 and has Keerthy Suresh and Vijay collaborating for the second time afterBairavaa.

The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prem Kumar, Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu, and has music by AR Rahman, who had incidentally composed Vijay’s last film Mersal. The film promises to be high on actions with some commendable stunts. The film’s audio launch is scheduled for October 2.

On the work front, Suriya also has KV Anand’s film in the pipeline. Tentatively titled as Suriya 37, the film stars Malayalam actor Mohanlal, Telugu actor Allu Sirish, and Vanamagan actress Sayyeshha in the film.
