In the Hindi version, Bollywood actor Ayushman Khurana made an appearance, where he visited Sulu (played by Vidya Balan) on one of her shows.
Jyothika and Simbu have starred in four films including the upcoming Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, directed by Mani Ratnam.
The remake is looking to release in October this year. The film stars Vidhaarth as Jyothika’s husband and has Lakshmi Manchu playing Neha Dhupia’s role from the original. The Hindi film was about a housewife who longs to do something for herself and is then introduced to the world of RJing. She becomes a late night show host for a radio channel and becomes an instant hit. The film was directed by Suresh Triveni and went on to do garner much applause from critics and audience alike.
Produced by G Dhananjayan’s BOFTA Media Works, Mahesh Muthusami will crank the camera while Praveen KL will be the editor. National Award winning costume designer Poornima Ramasamy is also on board for the film, with music by AH Kaashif.
