Here’s How Vijay Sethupathi Completely Transformed For ‘Seethakaathi’!

Vijay Sethupathi has been regarded as one of the few versatile actors in Kollywood in recent times, with every role of his as different as chalk and cheese. Which is why, his transformation as ‘Ayya’ in Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Seethakaathi is a sight to behold, with him wearing prosthetics and make-up and outdoing himself.

The making video of his transformation is out and has impressed many, where he suddenly goes from looking like a regular 40-year-old to an old, old man.

Thick crop of grey hair, wrinkled skin, broad-rimmed glasses, Vijay Sethupathi is almost unrecognisable! For his look, Academy Award winner Kevin Haney, who won the award in 1989 for Driving Miss Daisy, was brought on board. From Los Angeles, Haney has been involved in the initial sculpting work for the look, while another make-up artist, Alex Noble, was flown to India for the final look.

The film went on floors in April last year, and will have the ‘Makkal Selvan’ play dual roles. The cast also includes Parvathy, Archana, Gayathrie, and J Mahendran. Music is by Govind Menon.

Meanwhile, Sethupathi will soon be seen in the gangster comedy Junga which is set for a release this July. He also has Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in the pipeline, in addition to ’96’ with Trisha Krishnan and Super Deluxe.
