Here’s How Trisha’s Jaanu in ’96’ Has Become A Fashion Icon!

Awesome!

If you have watched Trisha Krishnan’s latest film – ’96’ – then you’re bound to be informed of the craze that the two characters in the film – Ram and Jaanu – have created in the last two weeks. A romantic drama, the film is a poem of sorts, of the reunion of two high school lovers and a poignant look at their story 22 years later.

Playing Jaanu aka Janaki Devi, Trisha is seen wearing a simple yellow kurta, light blue jeans and a blue silk stole with hair tied into a low ponytail and a tiny bindi on the forehead. Simple yet classy, this has become a look that everybody on social media has been raving about. In fact, clothing showrooms in the city have already started selling the ‘Jaanu’ look!

Trisha even shared a hilarious meme on her character’s outfit, alluding it to a Simpson episode.

The film has even inspired dollmakers to make a Ram and Jaanu doll, something that Trisha even approves!

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time one of Trisha’s film created a fashion rage. Back when her film ‘Vinaithaandi Varuvaaya’ released, her role as Jessie was something that people couldn’t easily forget. And the maroon and lime green saree she wears in the film went on to be a top seller in most apparel stores.
