Here’s how Priya Bhavani Shankar voiced out for #JusticeForSrimathi

One of the firsts to voice out.

The entire state of Tamil Nadu has turned their heads towards Kallarakurichi, after a young 17-yr-old student passed away in a private school in Chinna Salem. On Sunday, the entire district was filled with violence as the locals resorted to stone pelting and burning buses as the Police took no action regarding the case. Later yesterday, the High Court ruled that a second post-mortem of the victim has to be carried out immediately.

The case has now been transferred to the CB-CID. The case became a movement and gained momentum only after a social media campaign titled ‘JusticeForSumathi’. Meanwhile, not many from the film fraternity have voiced out against this issue. Now, as the first Kollywood actress, Priya Bhavani Shakar has voiced out for this issue.

Taking to her Twitter, she shared a photo of the late victim, along with the photo of her mother, with the #justiceforsrimathi. While she has not spoken much about the issue itself, she happens to be the first from Kollywood to even tweet using the hashtag.

On the work front, the actor is awaiting the release of a number of films, including, Thiruchitrambalam, Agilan, Bommai and Rudhran. She is filming for Pathu Thala, and another two projects, Indian 2 and Kuruthi Attam have been delayed.
