The case has now been transferred to the CB-CID. The case became a movement and gained momentum only after a social media campaign titled ‘JusticeForSumathi’. Meanwhile, not many from the film fraternity have voiced out against this issue. Now, as the first Kollywood actress, Priya Bhavani Shakar has voiced out for this issue.
Taking to her Twitter, she shared a photo of the late victim, along with the photo of her mother, with the #justiceforsrimathi. While she has not spoken much about the issue itself, she happens to be the first from Kollywood to even tweet using the hashtag.
