Keerthy Suresh has proved her mettle as an actress in the recently released Savitri biopic Mahanati (Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil) where the actress played the late superstar with such grace. With critics and audience lauding her performance, it’s clear that the actress has finally shed her cute-girl image and has embraced a more mature persona on screen. Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Mahanati’ completed a year in cinema and even today it is one of the most finest films ever made not to forget the impeccable acting Keerthy did donning the role of superstar Savithri. She was unstoppable as an actress ever since but her roles were not quite as charming as ‘Mahanati’.

The actress has now won a National Award as the best actress for her excellent performance in the biopic. As a thank you note to her fans, Keerthy posted an emotional message on social media.

With Karthik Subbaraj’s new venture and Nithiin starrer Rang De, Keerthy has her hands full apart from Mohanlal starrer Marakkan. However, that’s not just it, Keerthy had early this year announced that the actress is all set to make her Bollywood debut under the Boney Kapoor banner. The actress will reportedly be seen starring alongside Bollywood star Ajay Devgn. The title is now out and the film’s name is MAIDAAN. The story is said to be about talking about the the bloom of Indian Fottball from the yea 1952 – 1962. The film shooting has officially begun today and the producer’s daughter and actress Janhvi Kapoor shared the exciting news on social media. She wrote, “So proud and excited about this!! Can’t wait to know about the Untold Story of The Golden Years of Indian Football. Best of luck Papa.”

Her first movie would be directed by the ‘Badhai Ho’ director Amit Sharma. Boney Kapoor, who is producing the film with Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta, reveals that romance plays a pivotal role in the movie. Syed Abdul Rahim biopic is an untold story and Keerthy Suresh will become an imperative part of the film.
