In an interview with The Hindustan Times, Genelia said, “Riteish has gone through a lot of struggles. His father Vilasrao Deshmukh is a great politician. However, he decided to pave his own path. His father was very proud of him and so am I. I always tell Riteish that if my sons are half as good as him, then I will be the luckiest person in the world.”

On asking about why she hasn’t taken up any new projects:

“Whenever an exciting project comes my way I will definitely take it up. I have never said that I won’t. Yes, after I got married I wanted a break for a while because I had worked a lot for 12 years.”
