On International Women’s Day one of the biggest debates till date remains to be the pay gap between and women in every field. A stark difference in pay gap especially in the film industry is something several actresses have been actively addressing about. The latest one to comment on the same is actress Samantha Akkineni.

She is easily one of the finest actors of her time and has been choosing some very wise roles. Samantha has also been very open and opinionated about several discriminatory issues including the payback.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Samantha stated that an actress who demands a hike is seen as problematic by producers, while an actor wanting a hike is seen as a cool hero. Three years ago Anushka Shetty had also spoken out about the stark pay difference. She stated that male actors draw audiences to theaters and that’s why they get paid more and that just seems to be an unfair comparison.
