According to unconfirmed sources, the actor’s inclusion hasn’t been confirmed yet but fingers are crossed. If he joins, the film’s cast would include Nayanthara and Ajay Devgn. It is also reported that Kajal Aggarwal has been approached but whether she’ll take over Nayanthara’s role or not has not been confirmed.
The 1996 Shankar Shanmugham film had Kamal play a vigilante old man named Senapathi who takes the law in his own hands. He also plays the Indian thatha‘s son in the film, thereby essaying dual roles. A multi-lingual, music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
‘Indian’, which had music by A.R Rahman, was released in Telugu as Bharatheeyudu and in Hindi as Hindustani. The film also starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar and had won three National awards including the best actor honour for Haasan.
Kamal Haasan, who has forayed into politics launching his party Makkal Needhi Maiyam, has Sabhash Naidu, a spin-off on theDasavatharam character Balram Naidu, to finish. His film Vishwaroopam 2 released in August this year and he was also seen periodically hosting for Vijay TV’s reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 2, which came to an end in September.
He also has another sequel to one of his films in the pipeline – ‘Thevar Magan’. Directed by Bharathan, ‘Thevar Magan’ released in 1992 and had Sivaji Ganesan and Kamal Haasan in a father-son role. The film also starred Nassar, Gautami, Revathi, and others with music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Winning five National Awards that year, the film went on to be made in Hindi as ‘Virasat’ starring Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Tabu, Pooja Batra, and others.
As for Dulquer, he has ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaa’ in the pipeline as well as a Hindi film ‘The Zoya Factor’ with Sonam Kapoor.
