Nithya Menen has Praana
coming up, a multilingual film that is directed by VK Prakash. The film is being made in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, and has ace cinematographer PC Sreeram and Oscar winner Resul Pookutty on board.
The film’s first-look was shared by Dulquer Salmaan and let’s just say the first-look will make you feel very, very uncomfortable. Focusing on her serious face, there are far too many dolls’ heads in the background, a stuff of nightmares for those who suffer from Trypophobia!
The film’s trailer had garnered a terrific response when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival recently. Acclaimed Jazz musician Louis Banks is the music director for this short movie. The movie is expected to release by August.
In an interview with JFW, Nithya opened up about the film.
“Praana is a really interesting project because it is a one-actor film. This will be the first time a story revolving around a female lead character is coming out. We have tried new things for the film including shooting in four languages, so I have had to shoot the scene four different times stating my dialogues in four different languages. Often times, we have also used natural ambience as the sound effects for the film so we have had to travel and shoot as well. PC Sir has a different version of the film and thus I know it is going to be unique for the viewers as well.”
