Dileep Upset About Being Linked In The Malayalam Actress Abduction Case

Actor Dileep and the popular Malayalam actress who was abducted in Kochi a few days back had a major tiff years ago which was known to all. In the light of the event, many of the media houses published an array of stories which talked about the ‘involvement of a top actor’ hinting at Dileep due to the rough past between the two. The stories reached a level where news like the investigators approaching Dileep for interrogation swarmed around.

Many renowned regional media houses in Kerala released many statements like ‘Police had questioned a prominent actor from Aluva’ indirectly hinting at Dileep but not outrightly mentioning the actor’s name. With the never ending rumors and speculations surrounding the actor, he took it to social media to express his anger and grief.

Here is what he said:

In his post, Dileep said, “This was an incident which we never thought would happen in the Malayalam film industry. Over the last few days, AMMA (actors’ association) and the industry as a whole had condemned the assault on our colleague.  But, many digital media organizations and few newspapers have been targeting me over the incident. They have cooked up stories revolving around me, with or without taking my name. ”

“Some newspapers said on Wednesday that the ‘police had questioned a prominent actor from Aluva’. For those people who may believe such news items that are mere smokescreens, let me assure them that this is not true. As an actor who permanently resides in Aluva, I can say that the actor mentioned in news reports was not me. Neither have the police come to my house nor have they contacted me via phone. I can also tell you that the police have not questioned any actor living in Aluva. The onus is now on these media houses to prove the authenticity of the story.”

“I know the value of family relationships. I am an average person with a mother, daughter, and wife.  The truth of this matter should come out; the culprits should be caught and punished. This is something that the society wants and I personally want,” he concluded.
