Rumours were on the round when few claimed that the character ‘Nimmi’ in Priyadhrashan’s Tamil film ‘Snegithiyae’ was Deepika Padukone and a lot of her fans was surprised to see Deepika Padukone in different avatar. ‘Snegithiyae’ was a thriller film released in the year 2000 which had an all women lead, casting Jytohika, Sharbani Mukherjee, Tabu and Ishita Arun. The movie mostly had female characters and it is quite surprising that a familiar face was recognized from one among those.
The pictures from the film were incorrectly recognised as Deepika Padukone while the actual person is Manasi Scott, a popular singer and actress. When asked if it was herself or Deepika in the film, she confirmed it herself in her Twitter handle saying that she was the one who acted in the film. It was also a breakthrough for her as a singer in this film. She has sung the song ‘Othayadi Pathayilae’ from the same movie before which she used to sing in a band. Now the actress is known for her live performances.
