Amala Paul is easily one of the most talented actresses of the generation. The actress proved her mettle in the movie “Mynaa’ and ‘Amma Kanakku’; she was even critically appreciated for doing so. However, Amala has also been a controversy’s child and has been in the tabloids since her divorce and her rumored affair with her ‘VIP’ co-star Dhanush. Earlier during her divorce, Amala had confronted the media and informed that she had to part ways since Vijay and his family wouldn’t allow her to act in films after the wedding.

In a recent interview, AL Azhagappan, father of AL Vijay, opened up about his side of the story. He stated that Amala Paul was the one who decided to never act in films any more post-wedding.  However, he stated that when Dhanush offered her Amma Kanakku through his production banner, she immediately agreed to do it. This paved the way to Vijay and Amala’s divorce, says Azhagappan.

AL Azhagappan’s accusation on the leading actor Dhanush has caused a stir in the industry. While AL Vijay is married to Dr. Aishwarya, Amala Paul is still pursuing her dream of creating good films with good content.

Over his split, the director had said, “The portrayal of women in my films with dignity and self-respect, reflects the amount of respect I have towards them. When Amala wanted to continue her career in films, I supported her to the best of my ability. And she continued acting even after marriage. The newfound accusations that I or my family were stopping her from work are completely untrue,”

“The base for any marital relationship is honesty and trust when that is breached the very existence of committed relationship becomes meaningless. I really value the institution of marriage and relationship a lot,” he said in a press release at the time of their divorce.
