Velai Illa Pattadhari, released in 2014 was one of Dhanush’s best movies.
The unemployed engineer avatar of Dhanush was loved by everyone. By the end of 2016, it was announced that there will be a VIP 2 coming up. This comedy-drama film is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth.
During the audio launch, Kajol opened up about Dhanush and Soundarya Rajinikanth. She said, “I was lied upon saying that you don’t have to speak in Tamil. They proved me wrong the first day because they gave me a long script with two scenes and huge dialogues. They said at least try.”
She further added that she is very thankful to them for breaking her myth about not able to do movies in other languages.
Dhanush also had a lot to say about his co-star, “Kajol works like a 14-year-old girl with great energy levels. I felt proud to share screen space with a legend like her. Even to stand in a frame alongside Kajol was challenging.”
“Given a gap, she would outsmart you with her performance. She has a natural swag and style. I was very cautious in our combo scenes,” he added.
He further added that working with two women directors and producing for one (Ashwini Iyer for Amma Kanakku) he wants to promote more women-centric films. He adds, “We have not even used the word feminism anywhere in the film and it yet celebrates womanhood.”
Kajol will be seen along with a few of the original VIP cast members like Dhanush, Amala Paul, Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponnvannan.
The music is scored by Sean Roldan and the movie has been produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films Banner and Kaipuli S. Thanu V Creations.
Dhanush is currently shooting for ‘Vada Chennai’ and his next with Gautham Menon is also in the post production process.
While Amala Paul and Dhanush are back together to create some beautiful onscreen romance, Kajol looks larger than life and a fearless lion. We cannot wait to watch these three combined with Vivek’s comic dialogues
