A source who is believed to be close to the project has said that nobody is willing to comment on the subject because talks have just been mooted and there are a lot of modalities involved but it, however, true that Deepika is being considered for the lead role.
Meanwhile, Deepika was supposed to start shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s gangster drama, Sapna Didi this year, but that has now been stalled as her co-star Irrfan Khan is suffering from NeuroEndocrine Tumour. Having last starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat, Deepika was reportedly going to be a part of India’s first ever female superhero flick. The actress hasn’t confirmed this news though.
As for the remake of the Sridevi flick, reports state that it is too early to confirm. Sridevi passed away due to accidental drowning on February 24 around 11 PM UAE time at a hotel room in Dubai. Accompanied by her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, Sridevi was in Dubai for a family wedding when she died.
