A source close to the couple told TOI, “Alya and Sanjeev’s on-screen chemistry in Raja Rani has always been much appreciated. The two, who play a couple in the recently-concluded show, officially announced that they were dating each other last year. In April this year, When Alya received the award for ‘Best Actress’ at a show, Sanjeev joined her on stage and proposed her for marriage. An emotional Alya said yes immediately. They exchanged garlands amidst a gathering of their co-stars and family members. And now, they got married on Alya’s birthday a couple of months ago but made the announcement just now.”

About a few months ago, rumours were rife that the betrothed couple is already married but the couple neither agreed nor denied that rumour. In a recent, Sanjeev took it to Instagram to confirm that he was married three months ago but due to various reasons they were keeping mum about it. He wrote, “Yes we got married on papu’s birthday itself…we dint announce cus of some issues🙂 it’s an official announcement now…need all your blessings🙂🙂🙂💐.”
