The latest buzz is that Shruti Haasan may have signed yet another film with none other than actor Simbu. Although there has not been any official confirmation, the speculation is that the duo will be seen starring in the remake of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan Aval Appadithan which was directed by C. Rudhraiya. The film was a landmark in both the actors’ careers. Though the duo has acted together in more than 15 films, Aval Appadithaan stood out for their acting prowess. The film had Sri Priya as the heroine, playing Manju, a bold woman who preferred to live her life in her own terms. While Kamal essayed the role of a feminist, Rajini portrayed a male chauvinist in the film.
Director Badri Venkatesh has expressed his interest in remaking this cult film and Shruti Haasan will reprise the role of Sri Priya. Simbu is touted to reprise the role of Rajini, meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda or Dulquer Salmaan may play the role of Kamal Haasan. It’s reported that since the director of the original is no more, the team is on the lookout for the person who is owning the rights of the movie so that they can initiate discussions to acquire it.
On the professional front, Simbu has Maanadu and a guest role in Maha. He was recently seen in Gautham Menon’s short film Karthik Dial Seidha Yen which also starred Trisha.
