Confirmed: ‘Awe’ Director Roped In For ‘Queen’ Remake Starring Tamannaah!!

Celebrations on the sets of the film!

It’s official! Prashanth Varma, who made his directorial debut with Awe this year has been roped in to direct the Telugu version of the Queen remake starring Tamannaah Bhatia! The young filmmaker will be replacing filmmaker Neelakanta, who was initially roped in last year for directing the film.

The team celebrated the director birthday on the sets of the film with a cake, with photos doing the round on social media.

Actor-filmmaker Ramesh Aravind, who is helming the Tamil and Kannada versions of the Bollywood film’s remake, had initially agreed to helm the Telugu version as well, but he too walked out of the project midway. The makers are planning to release all four versions in 2018 and the Tamil and Malayalam versions have already shot for it with few days of shooting left.

Titled Queen Again, the film’s shooting has been taking place at Mysore. The Tamil version of the film stars Kajal Aggarwal while the Kannada one stars Parul Yadav, and the Malayalam version stars Manjima Mohan.

Queen, that starred Kangana Ranaut, narrates the story of Rani, who goes for her honeymoon to Paris alone after her fiance calls-off the wedding on the final day. The trip transforms her completely. Rajkummar Rao played Kangana’s fiance in the film.
