Chennai Man Kills Lover On Her Birthday Then Himself!

He bludgeoned her!

In the latest report by The New Indian Express, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly hammered to death by her lover in Mahabalipuram on her birthday. After committing this horrendous crime, he also hanged himself to death. Police believe the crime was committed after the girl announced her decision to end the relationship as her parents were against it.

According to the report, the bodies of the couple was found around 2.30 am near Tiger caves, a tourist destination, about 50 kilometres south of Chennai. Preliminary evidence reportedly suggests that the woman, Jennifer Pushpa, received a blow from a huge iron hammer to her head resulting in instant death. Her boyfriend, John Mathew (22), then hung himself to death by tying Jennifer’s dupatta to a tree.

“Her parents were against the relationship and asked her to end the relationship. The girl had also recently started avoiding him. Possibly enraged by this, Mathew decided to murder her,” said a police officer to The New Indian Express. The girl who was a final year student studying BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) at a well-renowned college at Nungambakkam, was just placed in an IT company.

In reports by The News Minute, Mathew meanwhile, was a resident of Semmencherry and was working as a tailor. They had both reportedly been residing at Kottivakkam, where they met in the local church. Mathew allegedly asked Pushpa to come with him to Mahabalipuram on Saturday as it was her birthday and claimed he wanted to meet her one last time. Once they reached a secluded spot, he reportedly used the iron hammer he had gift-wrapped to murder her.

This incident comes to light merely a week after a college student in Tiruvannamalai was murdered for refusing to become her cousin’s second wife. Rajeshwari (21) had been taken to a secluded spot, strangled and murdered with a dupatta that she was wearing.
