Chennai Feels More Special Now: Asuran Actress Manju Warrier Opens Up About Her Love For The City!

Chennai loves you just as much, dear Pachaiyamma!

2019 has been an incredible year for Manju Warrier. She continued her success in Mollywood with the release of Mohanlal blockbuster Lucifer, which grossed around 200 crores worldwide making it the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, and the well-received PrathiPoovankozhi. She also managed to strike gold with her first venture into Kollywood in 2019 with Asuran, making her a popular name amongst Tamil moviegoers already, which she says has made her recent trips to Chennai even more special.

She recently visited Chennai to attend an event where she was appreciated for her role in the Malayalam film Aami. Speaking to the Times of India, she expressed her attachment to Chennai. “It’s always a pleasure to come to Chennai. Even before Asuran happened, I’ve been to the city many times as the post-production work of most of my earlier films would happen in Chennai. Now, it feels even more special. A few people have started recognising me here.”

She also said she would like to explore more projects to further herself in Tollywood. “I really hope I get to do more good films in Tamil. Asuran was my first film in a language other than Malayalam, and I want to take up some more interesting offers.” Manju has a packed 2020 ahead of her with three movies, Jack and Jill, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham also starring Mohanlal and Keerthy Suresh in the lead and Kayattam in the post-production phase. Lucifer 2 is also expected to be released at some point next year.
