Check Out The Stars That Lit Up SIIMA 2017 : Red Carpet Fashion Decoded

South Indian International Movie Awards doesn’t just honour and commemorate the movie fraternity but also hosts an annual celebration that brings together the stars of the south under one roof.  Abu Dhabi was the chosen city for the awards this year that took place on the 30th of June and 1st of July.

Kannada and Telugu film awards were given out the first day of the event. The red carpet was set ablaze by the stunning stars that included Rakul Preet Singh, Shriya Saran, Regina Cassandra, Rana Daggubati , Akhil Akkineni and the likes.

Rakul Preet Singh was dressed in a Yigal Azrouel gown for the first day award night. She pulled off a no-fuss look in the black dress with sleek straight hair and earrings. That night, she took back home the Best Actress award in Telugu for Nannaku Prematho. For the second day, Rakul wore an embroidered Marchesa gown. While the gown and the lady both looked pretty, the look wasn’t as loved as day 1.

Shriya Saran wore a Manish Malhotra couture ensemble for the first day of the function. A nude embellished dress with a princess-cut bottom, the gown was a good bet. On the second day, she was seen wearing a gown by Esha Sethi Therani, a bolder statement and a lovelier look for sure.

Regina Cassandra was seen wearing a hot red number by Sashi Vangapalli on the first day, the colour was certainly flattering but the transparent neckline and back seemed to take away from it. The next day she followed it in an off shoulder Shantanu and Nikhil gown.

The boys certainly got the fashion quotient right on target this time. Rana Daggubati looked dapper as ever in a wine colour suit for the first day at the awards. A chic bowtie , white shirt and set hair made the look for him. For the second day, he chose a more classic tux in black.

Akhil Akkineni stopped many a beating hearts with his live performance on stage. His all black attire was a step in the right direction. The no-sock loafer also suits the man well.

Allu Shirish, who also hosted the day 1 event, was dressed in a Shantanu & Nikhil Indian atttire, a rather interesting choice. He added a bit of quirk in his attire even the second day in a striped suit by Dhruv Vaish.

On Day 2, the Tamil and Malayalam stars were bestowed with awards for their performances. The event was also graced by Bollywood superstars Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor who took to the platform to promote their upcoming release, Jagga Jasoos.

Trisha who was dressed in a Varun Bahl creation won the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for Kodi. While she looked beautiful as always, the bra top underneath the lace didn’t seem to add up to make it a fabulous ensemble.

Nayanthara bagged the Best Actress award for Iru Mugan and also for Puthiya Niyamam. She chose to dress up in a charcoal black saree with hair pulled back, dark eye make up and minimal accessories.

Kushboo Sundar attended the event wearing a tissue saree and in a completely Indian avatar. Her statement jewellery pieces from the nose pin to the haaram, everything was perfect to the T.

R Madhavan won the critics’ choice award for Best Actor for Irudhi Suttru. He wore a Navy Antar-Agni By Ujjawal Dubey.

Sivakarthikeyan got the Best Actor award for Remo.

Nivin Pauly won the Best Actor (Critics) award in Malayalam.
