We wish the legendary singer returns with an even fresher voice!

S.P. Balasubramaniam was tested positive for COVID19 last month and was admitted to MGM hospital, Choolaimedu in Chennai. SP Balasubrahmanyam initially developed low symptoms and was to be cured within a few days. The veteran singer took to Facebook to announce to his fans about his condition and that he is taking all necessary measures.

However, in a turn of shocking events, it is now confirmed that the singer has developed severe symptoms and is currently on life support. According to a statement from MGM Healthcare where he is undergoing treatment for over a week, he is currently on life support and his condition is critical.

“There has been a setback in the health of Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM healthcare for symptoms of COVID since 5th August 2020. In a late night development on August 13, 2020 his condition has deteriorated. And based on the advice of the expert medical team attending to him, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he is on life support and his condition remains critical. He is currently under observation by the team and experts from critical care and his haemodynamic said clinical parameters are being closely monitored,” read the hospital statement.

Eventually a leading Tamil news channel stated that the legendary singer is no more. But singer Charan was soon to confirm that these are baseless rumours. Taking to social media, the singer stated, “The News in Pudhiya Thalaimurai is not true. SPB is critical but we are all confident thay he will be back sooner than later. Please don’t spread fake news.”

SPB had initially confirmed in a video that he had mild symptoms and is recovering. “For the last two or three days, I was feeling little discomfort like cold and fever. I went to the hospital and got checked. The doctors said it I have mild coronavirus. They asked me to stay at home and self-quarantine, and take medication. But, I didn’t want to do that as my family is very concerned. So, I got admitted to the hospital. All my friends are here and I am in good hands. I am in good health and nobody has to worry about me. I got admitted to the hospital. No one needs to worry about me and please don’t bother me to call to find out how I am. Except for fever and cold, I am perfectly alright. Even fever has subsided. In two days I’ll be discharged,” he said in a video statement.

The singer has sung over 40,000 songs in several lamguages. We wish him a speedy recovery.
