Celebrities with Criminal Charges!

With the latest Salman Khan conviction, we come to realize that the stars we see on screen are so much more human and flawed for real. Though celebs are often worshipped for the beloved roles they portray it comes as more as a disappointment when they are not consistent with what we see on screen. Here’s the list of stars with criminal charges against them, although some of them falsely accused:

Salman Khan

During the shooting of the Bollywood film Hum Saath Saath Hain 1998, Salman Khan shot two blackbucks when he was at visited Kankani village, Jodhpur. Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam also arrived at the court for the pronouncement of the decision, as they were accused of traveling with Salman when the incident took place. Salman is charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Dileep

Dileep has been accused of being involved in the kidnapping of popular Malayalam actress. The actress went on to reveal that there was a bigger conspiracy behind her abduction and alleged molestation. In February 2017, Dileep has approached the High Court seeking a delay in the trial. In a petition filed by him, he has stated that he does not have enough documents and evidence for his side to go on trial on March 14th as announced. The trial is still pending.

Priya Prakash Varrier

A week after Muslim fringe groups had called out the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from the movie, Oru Adaar Love for hurting their sentiments, they quickly filed for a case against the director of the movie and the debut actress Priya Varrier, internet sensation. Her cute expressions have gone viral and overnight she became a sensation with millions of followers on her Instagram and social media accounts. Priya Varrier later approached Supreme Court to dismiss the case filed against her and the Court had decided to do the same after seeing her plea.

 

Amala Paul

Remember last year when Amala Paul was in trouble for purchasing a car for Rs.1 crore + and registering it in a Pondicherry address? The actress had claimed that as a frequent visitor to Pondicherry and having rented a home there, she was entitled to register her car as so but the Kerala High Court did not seem to agree. She had earlier been summoned on December 19th and after failing to appear she was forced to go on anticipatory bail. The judge had ordered her to appear in person on January 15th based on which her bail application went through. The case is still pending.

Jai

Actor Jai was arrested last year along with comedian and his friend Premji by Chennai police for driving under the influence of alcohol. Jai was said to be driving his Audi when he rammed the divider on the Adayar flyover at around 2:30 AM. Jai was arrested by the police and booked under sections 185 (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs) of the Motor Vehicles Act and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code. Jai was, however, later released on bail. Jai was involved in a similar incident in 2014 after he rammed into a divider.

Latha Rajinikanth

Latha Rajinikanth, wife of Superstar has been in deep trouble ever since allegations of her selling the rights to the movie ‘Kochadaiiyan’ illegally has surfaced. The Supreme Court today has ordered the well-known personality to pay a private distribution company Rs 6.2 crore, with interest, within 12 weeks. The order comes after allegations of a case of cheating against her. This after the film ran into a lot of post-production issues.


 

Simbhu

The Beep song with expletive lyrics so controversial that it needed a beep in the song itself says a lot about this scandal. Known as the beep song the song was composed by Anirudh and sung by STR for viral purposes. The song was called out for being sexist with police complaints and FIR filed left, right and center. Simbhu never apologized but claimed the song was for personal entertainment and nothing more. The charges were later dropped.

 

Kushboo

Actress Kushboo was one of the first South Indian actresses who faced flaming opposition from the public for her bold statement about ‘Pre-marital sex’. In an AIDS awareness program, she said that pre-marital sex was fine when pregnancy and STD precautions are taken. The public couldn’t take her statement and found it as a bad influence for the youngsters. A number of cases were filed against her for obscenity but nothing lasted as the court as the Madras High Court had accepted the concept of pre-marital sex.

Ramya aka Divya Spandana

Actress and Congress member Ramya (Divya Spandana) faced hatred when she made statements against the Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement about Pakistan. After his return from Pakistan, he equated visiting Pakistan with visiting hell. While she said something opposite after she had returned from Pakistan. ” I respectfully disagree, but Pakistan is not hell,” said the actress. Cases were filed against her for which she boldly responded, ” It’s really sad that there is such a situation in the country today. Politicians want to polarise and spread hatred. Just because borders separate us we shouldn’t hate others”.
