Director Krish believes Rakul suits well for the role of Sridevi who acted opposite NTR in several hit movies like Vetagadu, Bobbilipuli and Kondaveeti Simham.
Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh is most likely to reprise her role as Savitri. Savitri and NT Rama Rao, two yesteryear actors, had shared the screen several times in that era and had even delivered several blockbuster hits together. With Keerthy Suresh almost immortalizing the role, it’s only fitting to have her accept the role again, considering how she has left an indelible mark on many.
The movie will be directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. Balakrishna, Vishnu Induri finance the project that goes on the floors next month. Balakrishna, son of the late actor-turned-politician, will take on the lead role. His onscreen wife will be played by Vidya Balan, playing NTR’s wife Basavatarakam.
Incidentally, last year, Ram Gopal Varma had announced his Telugu film Lakshmi’s NTR. RGV had emphasised that instead of making the biopic from the perspective of NTR, he will narrate it from the perspective of his wife Lakshmi Parvathi.
