India’s former President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has passed away at the age of 84. Pranab, who served as the 13th President of India, was hospitalised at the Army Hospital on August 10th as a result of a brain surgery which led to Coma. Few days ago, he developed a lung infection that worsened as a result.

The hospital confirmed the news in a press statement. “There is a decline in the medical condition of Pranab Mukherjee since yesterday. He is in septic shock due to his lung infection and is being managed by team of specialists. He continues to be in deep coma and on ventilator support,” stated the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital. Mr Mukherjee, 84, had been on ventilator support.
