Nayanthara and Rajinikanth were last seen in the film Darbar directed by AR Murugadoss. The film did not do well at the box-office and neither did Nayanthara have a meaty role in the film. Looks like it that there’s yet another chance for us to see the duo together onscreen again. Nayanthara has now been confirmed to be a part of Thalaivar 168 directed by Siruthai Siva which has Meena, Khushbu and Keerthy Suresh on board.

Confirming this news, the production house of the film, Sun Pictures, has officially announced in social media. “Lady Superstar Nayanthara joins the cast of Thalaivar 168,” wrote Sun Pictures sharing a video.

Earlier actress talked about a film she regrets doing in 15 years of her career in an interview which re-surfaced and is trending yet again.

The interview created quite a stir and many anticipated that the director of the film AR Murugadoss would reciprocate. He finally did and here’s what he had to say:

“Just because I like or dislike a character or a person, I cannot reduce or extend a role. Sometimes, we have given the actors, whom we do not like very much,  good characters, and our favourites might have gotten small roles. It’s not in our hands.” He further added that there were times when he was forced to cut down scenes of his favourite actors and that there are times when he has been left with no choice.

Nayanthara is awaiting the release of her two next films namely Netri Kann produced by Vignesh Shivan and Mookuthi Amman alongside RJ Balaji.
