Only recently, Charan had shared the happy news of Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam testing negative for COVID and that he might soon come off life support. However, in a recent statement released by the hospital, it has been confirmed that the singer is extremely critical and is using maximum life support to survive.

“His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition,” mentioned the hospital’s statement.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and SPB’s close friend visited him at the hospital today. “Life support machines are in use, can’t say he’s doing well. He’s very critical, everyone are praying to the almighty,” stated Kamal to the media.

It was only last week when Charan said, “

We were expecting dad’s lungs to improve as they were but unfortunately we are still not at that point where we could rid him of the ventilator. But the good news is that dad is COVID negative.” He further added, “Other than that, we had a small celebration for mom and dad for their anniversary. Dad is watching a lot of cricket and tennis on his iPad. He is looking forward to IPL and is writing and communicating a lot.”

In a recent update, Charan has said, “Dad is stable and is continuing physio. ECMO and ventilator continue to be on but hopefully for not long. Thanks to the team of doctors from #MGMHealthcare and all of you who have been praying for him.”

In a turn of shocking events, singer SP Balasubrahmanyam was tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently on life support being treated with utmost care. His son and singer SP Charan, in a video, stated that his father has been shifted into an exclusive ICU and is being treated by the best medical team.

P. Balasubramaniam was tested positive for COVID19 last month and was admitted to MGM hospital, Choolaimedu in Chennai. SP Balasubrahmanyam initially developed low symptoms and was to be cured within a few days. The veteran singer took to Facebook to announce to his fans about his condition and that he is taking all necessary measures. However, in a turn of shocking events, it is now confirmed that the singer has developed severe symptoms and is currently on life support. According to a statement from MGM Healthcare where he is undergoing treatment for over a week, he is currently on life support and his condition is critical.

“There has been a setback in the health of Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM healthcare for symptoms of COVID since 5th August 2020. In a late-night development on August 13, 2020, his condition has deteriorated. And based on the advice of the expert medical team attending to him, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he is on life support and his condition remains critical. He is currently under observation by the team and experts from critical care and his hemodynamic said clinical parameters are being closely monitored,” read the hospital statement.

SPB had initially confirmed in a video that he had mild symptoms and is recovering. “For the last two or three days, I was feeling little discomfort like cold and fever. I went to the hospital and got checked. The doctors said it I have mild coronavirus. They asked me to stay at home and self-quarantine, and take medication. But, I didn’t want to do that as my family is very concerned. So, I got admitted to the hospital. All my friends are here and I am in good hands. I am in good health and nobody has to worry about me. I got admitted to the hospital. No one needs to worry about me and please don’t bother me to call to find out how I am. Except for fever and cold, I am perfectly alright. Even fever has subsided. In two days I’ll be discharged,” he said in a video statement.
