Breaking: Kamal Haasan gets a Notice from Madras HC for ‘Vishwaroopam 2’!!

OMG!

Actor and upcoming politician, Kamal Haasan, has reportedly been given a notice by the Madras High Court concerning his upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2. Reports state a production company has been alleging that Haasan is yet to pay dues amounting to Rs 7.75 crores. Incidentally, Vishwaroopam 1 had faced issues before its release albeit for different reasons.

As of Friday, the Madras High Court directed Haasan to file his reply by August 6 to the petition filed by Pyramid Saimira, the movie production company. Giving time for his reply, the court set the next date for the hearing.

Pyramid Saimira has alleged that Kamal Haasan has to pay Rs 7.75 crores and adding that the dues will not be recovered if the film gets its release. According to the company, the parties had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Raaj Kamal Films International, wherein Haasan is one of the partners, for joint production of a Tamil movie Marmayogi. The MoU states that Haasan had agreed to play a lead role in Marmayogi, pen the story, screenplay and dialogues. It is alleged that Pyramid Saimira paid Haasan Rs 10.9 crore in two instalments.

However, the issue now is that the production company has accused the actor of diverting the money for producing another of his movie.

Vishwaroopam 2 stars Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose,  Shekhar Kapur, veteran actress Waheeda Rehman, Jaideep Ahlawat, Zarina Wahab, Nassar, and others. The film is directed and written by Haasan and is scheduled to release on August 10.
