H Vasanthakumar has passed away today as a result of COVID-19. Vasanthakumar is the MP of the Congress Party, Kanyakumari and was the owner of the famous Vasanth and Co., a famous home appliances appliances company. He was 70 years of age.

The MP was very critical and eventually was tested positive for COVID-19. He was admitted to the Apollo Hospitals Chennai on August 10th with coronavirus infection, read the hospital’s official statement.

“He is being treated currently in the critical care unit by a team of doctors for severe COVID pneumonia and his clinical condition continued toremain critical,” Dr R K Venkatasalam Director (Medical Services) of Apollo Hospitals said in a release.
