Bigg Boss: Julie’s Acceptance Of Her Mistake Was Unnecessary And Useless!

Written by Radhika Ramesh

I have begun watching Bigg Boss these days to make sure I analyse the characters and try to tally between various reasons to understand why they behave in a certain way every day. Saturday’s episode was just mind blowing with some brilliant lessons-to-learn talks from Kamal. Remember when he said, “Mistakes have to be accepted with a full heart. If not, it is as good as not accepting it.” It turned out to be quite true on Sunday’s episode.

Julie after Saturday was shaken, she screamed, cried, blamed Kamal, blamed the audience for a mistake she committed. What shocked me was, a Gayathri who is very particular about verbally torturing someone who is either a stronger contestant than her, gossips about her or doesn’t abide by her rules in the house. However yesterday was different, she forgave Julie that spoke ill of them behind their backs.

The reason is very simple – anyone against Oviya (even if that person insults her and demeans her self-respect) is a friend of Gayathri no matter what. Right now, Oviya has a mass support from the people outside the House and Gayathri has none which has already hit her ego extremely hard. While she hasn’t digested that part of it yet, Julie talking about her is no big deal for her for now. She knows that if she goes against Julie, she will be chosen for nomination ultimately leading to eviction.

She also knows that she has no people’s support.

Secondly, what confused me was, the same Gayathri and the others who fought with Julie for lying all the time, are now teaching her to lie in order to not make people hate her or spoil her future any further. Gayathri keeps saying, “She has changed a lot ever since she came.” I honestly, feel she was just a drama queen when she came. However, now along with that, she has become a liar, egoistic woman all thanks to Gayathri.

So the statement “changed a lot” merely means Julie has shaped herself according to Gayathri’s liking.

Julie’s lie yesterday was bigger than all of them because she apologized which were just words. I remember Oviya saying ask a sorry and we can be friends. That is what a gem of a person says even after she was insulted and cheated upon, her character assassinated because of Julie. After Julie apologized to Oviya in front of Kamal, everyone knew that all the housemates trained her to apologize and to just move on.

However, that was never Julie’s intention because it wasn’t heartfelt. She never accepted her mistake in the first place to even apologize. Like Aarav rightfully said, “What 5-second video is she even asking for? In 5 seconds you can only blink her eye.”

That’s exactly why Julie’s apology was the biggest lie, unnecessary and absolutely useless. Why did she have to when it wasn’t even heartfelt? Why did she have to when the entire incident only hit her ego hard.

Oviya will remain a strong contestant despite everyone (even after watching Julie’s backstabbing video) still being against her because she is her natural self. Yeah, she has her flaws – nobody called her perfect. Nobody voted because Oviya was perfect. They voted because she was her perfect self. She never bothered to right away accept her mistake and apologize.

That’s why she sets an example for a lot of people around. If contestants, especially Gayathri and Julie stay the same way, Oviya is not far away from reaching the winning line.
