Kodi, a political drama, will see Trisha in negative shades for the first time. Also she has been paired opposite Dhansuh for the first time. It is almost a do or die battle for Trisha is pinning her hopes on Kodi to gain back her foothold in Kollywood. The actress has not had a hit since Yennai Arindhaal which released in 2015. This year, Trisha has had 2 releases so far- Aaranmanai 2 and Nayaki. While the former was a decent hit, it had an ensemble cast with Hansika and Poonam Bajwa. As for bilingual Nayaki, the film bombed at the box office. Trisha is in a desperate need for a superhit to regain her power in Tamil cinema. She will also be seen in Mohini, Sathuranga Vettai 2, Saamy 2 and an untitled film with Vijay Sethupathi.
