Keerthy Suresh made heads turn when she was signed for the film. The actress is 4 films old but has garnered a huge fan following for herself and made her mark in the industry. We are however extremely disappointed that she is there for only 4 seconds in the 1 minute 6 seconds teaser of Bairavaa. This is not the case with just this film, but many Tamil movies where the heroine does not add anything to the story and is rather present just as an eye candy in the movie. Why call the actresses as female leads when they do have a major screen space or have an important role to play in the movie?
While gender equality is the need of the hour, cinema, an influential medium cannot have films that do not respect women and objectify them. It is high time actresses also speak up about this; demanding meaningful roles and more screen space.
