To the uninitiated, this is Dutee’s first Asian Games considering she was suspended by the IAAF in 2014 under its hyperandrogenism policy but she filed an appealed before the Court of Arbitration for Sports and won it. The 22-year-old was a little behind her record of 11.29 seconds as her run was of 11.32 seconds on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Hima Das is known for creating a record barely a month ago. She got India its first ever track gold at a global event by winning the 400 metre final at the World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland. Her performance at the Asian Games was still a tad better than her performance at Finland, as she had clocked in 51.46 seconds at the Ratina Stadium, Finland.
Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the two.
