Anushka has garnered attention and praise nationwide for her powerful role as Devasena in the Baahubali films. She was rumored to be in close ties with her Baahubali co-star Prabhas. Prakash Kovelamudi was previously married to Bollywood writer Kanika Dhillon. He is the son of veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao and is best known for his film Judgementall Hai Kya starring Rajkummar Rao and KanganaRanaut.
The film was criticized at first for its previous original title being Mental Hai Kya which was questioned by the members of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) as they deemed it to be derogatory and demeaning towards the mentally ill. The IPS, therefore, wrote a letter to the CBFC seeking a change in the title resulting in Judgementall Hai Kya.
Anushka and Prakash’s wedding is just said to be rumoured as there has not been any confirmation regarding it.
Anushka is now busy shooting for her next Telugu film Nishabdam, opposite actor Madhavan in which she plays a deaf and mute character. Directed by Hemant Madhukar, the film also features Anjali, Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju, Srinivasa Avasarala and Hollywood star Michael Madsen who is renowned for his performance in Thelma and Louise, Die Another Day and a handful of Quentin Tarantino movies. The film is highly anticipated and is set to release in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and English. Anushka was last seen in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy which was a period film starring opposite Chiranjeevi.
