Amala has also expressed her fondness for Samantha. In fact, before Sam married Chay, Amala in an interview said that the Akkineni family members feel happy and fortunate to get a lovely and beautiful girl like Samantha as their daughter-in-law.
In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Amala talked about how she loved her mother-in-law Annapoorna and how Annapoorna was always extremely fond of Amala and that she is like a second mother to her. “I believe that a mother-in-law is a second mother to every woman, that is how I wish to be with my daughters-in-law,” she stated.
Speaking about her unbelievable bond with husband Nagarjuna, Amala said, “My life changed after marriage. It suddenly struck me that I will not be acting. That is when I started rediscovering myself. I got into animal welfare, meditation, Yoga. Then I had Akhil. I was completely there for him when he was growing up. I learned how to deal with social issues and how as a public figure I can now give back to the society. Nagarjuna was there with me through all this. He told me to follow my heart and that he would always support me in whatever I do. He is my donor, funder, a great father, a great human being and the greatest husband.”
That is when the interviewer asked a rather sexist question about whether or not Samantha has cooked something for her. Amala was quick to respond, “Poor thing, why does she need to cook for me? We have some terrific cooks who do that for us. In fact, I ask Samantha why she wants to cook when there is an amazing chef in the house? But, my husband Nagarjuna enjoys cooking and believes that cooking relieves him of his stress. I would keep all the ingredients ready and he would come home, fix himself a drink and make something fantastic for us.”
On the professional front, Samantha has two kollywood films titled Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, an untitled next with actor Prasanna directed by Ashwin Saravanan. She also is in talks with Oh Baby director Nandini Reddy for her next in Telugu with her real screen lover Naga Chaitanya.
