Deepika, who is the daughter of former badminton player Prakash Padukone, and Ranveer Singh’s family are likely to have begun the wedding prep already. While the two have never officially confirmed their relationship, they have never denied it either and have been known to shower attention on each other in public and on social media.
As per SpotboyE, Deepika and Ranveer’s rumoured wedding was supposed to be this July but has been postponed due to “unexpected changes” in their work schedules. The report added that the wedding will take place in Mumbai while the Padukones will host a reception in Bengaluru (Deepika’s hometown).
On the work front, Ranveer Singh has several projects in the pipeline including Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and Kabir Khan’s ’89. Deepika, who was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, hasn’t signed her next project yet. Her film with Irrfan Khan (to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj) has been put on hold till Irrfan returns after his treatment for Neuroendocrine Tumour.
According to reports, Deepika is using her free time to complete the wedding planning and shopping.
If the wedding turns out to be true, Deepika will join her other contemporaries such as Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor as top actresses who pursue their careers even after getting married.
