Aishwarya Rajesh’s Suzhal was released on Amazon Prime on 17 June 2022. The series’ first season received high praise from both the critics and the audience for its intense storyline and its well-helmed character arc. Set in the fictional town of Saambaloor, the story revolves around the missing case of Nila, Nandhini’s sister(Aishwarya Rajesh), followed by investigations carried out by Sub-inspector Chakravarthy (Kathir) and Inspector Regina Thomas. The close-knit neighborhood falls apart as the investigation reveals ugly secrets and dark truths. After the success of the series, a sequel was announced by the makers last October. Amazon Prime confirmed Suzhal season 2 at the #Areyouready event in Mumbai yesterday. The Season 2 of series is also written by the celebrated Vikram vedha filmmaker duo Pushkar and Gayatri and will be directed by Bramma and Sarjun.
At the Mumbai event, Pushkar gave some insight about the series, “There are some pertinent thought in it, which I think will connect with a lot of people all across India”. The writers also revealed that season 2 will be set in a sea backdrop and will have a lot more action, mystery and grandeur compared to the first season. The Writer Duo also revealed that the series will have “huge jail sequence “. Along with Aishwarya Rajesh and Kathir, the series also has a star-studded cast including Lal, Saravanan, Manjima Mohan, Gouri G. Kishan, Monisha Blessy, and Samyuktha Vishwanathan.
