Aishwarya Rai Bachchan At Cannes: Through The Years

Looking back at our favourite looks !

After the Oscars and the MET gala, the next global event is here and it’s none other than the Cannes Film Festival. Starting on the 16th of May, the film festival will see participants from all over the world. It’s a celebration of cinema that we wait for every year. For us, Cannes is synonymous with the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai. Year after year, she has served some stunning looks on the red carpet. From her golden gown by Roberto Cavalli to the Cinderella-like ball gown, her looks have been awe-inspiring.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been attending Cannes for two decades now, as the festival is all set to kick start, let’s have a look at our favourite moments:

She attended her first Cannes Film Festival in 2002 in a stunning yellow embellished saree designed by Neeta Lulla. A moment for Indian designers, she represented our culture on the international red carpet.

In 2006, Aishwarya looked like a goddess in a midnight blue Roberto Cavalli gown. She paired it up with a snake-like necklace and a killer smile.

Aishwarya walked the red carpet in a strapless Giorgio Armani gown and a diamond necklace. All things silvery and sparkly, she completed the look with statement eye makeup and a glitzy clutch.

Looking every bit like an Indian diva, Aishwarya rocked a Sabyasachi saree with a pulled-back bun. She redefined elegance with this ensemble and was accompanied by her husband, Abhishek Bachchan who looked dapper in a tuxedo.

Aishwarya wore a gold mermaid-inspired gown made by Roberto Cavalli in 2014. The outfit came together with simple jewellery and a classic red lip.

In 2017, Aishwarya looked like a Disney princess in an icy blue Michael Cinco couture gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline and delicate foliage design on the fabric.
